About us

In 2023, Jakob found Patrick through a post in a Facebook group. Back then, Patrick was running a WhatsApp group called FPV Friendz, where people would occasionally meet up to fly. For Jakob, that was not enough in the long run — so he organized regular monthly meetups: flying together outdoors and then chatting, tinkering and having a beer at a local Heuriger tavern.

Later, Jakob got into whoop flying. Max and Markus had built extremely cool neon gates, and Jakob was instantly hooked. In the beginning, whooping still happened in a gym hall in Holzhausen — and all of it was still organized via WhatsApp back then.

Eventually, Jakob, Markus and Max decided to set things up properly. Jakob took care of the public image — FPV Oberösterreich was born: website, Instagram, Facebook, Discord. A handful of pilots became a community with over 170 members on Discord.

These days we fly whoops almost every two weeks at the Last, a cool venue in the center of Linz where we set up our neon gates. Around 20 people join regularly and enjoy fast whoop races with us. We make sure the community keeps growing — and for 2026 we have already planned our first big race with the support of Last.

• > Whoop Racing — Indoor races every 2–3 weeks with 65–75mm whoops and neon gates.
• > Last Race — Our annual race event with up to 32 pilots, double elimination and prize money.
• > Community Meetup — Monthly meetup for chatting, tinkering and talking shop.
• > Freestyle — Outdoor sessions (currently looking for a new spot).

We are (not yet) a formal club with statutes and membership fees — we are a loose community that simply loves FPV. Our organization runs via Discord, where we plan events, coordinate dates and sort out technical questions.

The six crew members voluntarily take care of different areas: event organization, gate setup, community management, the timing system and the online presence. Everyone contributes what they can — and together it works.
